Realizing that I have been quiet for quite some time, I felt it appropriate to take a moment or two and summarize some recent thoughts in light of the conclusion of the ninth-annual LDS Film Festival. Because of my involvement along two fronts related to the festival this year, I'm afraid any sort of good overview of the festival cannot be offered by me. But fortunately, we had extensive coverage of the festival from the Deseret News' Mormon Times department, so I will defer you to their coverage for more detailed information about the films that played this year.

"One Good Man," formally discussed and screened under the name "Father in Israel" will be released in select theaters in Utah on the 9th of October, 2009.

To view a trailer and for more information, visit the new website at www.onegoodman.com. This is a good film to get out there and support if you're here in Utah. Otherwise, I guess you'll have to wait for the DVD release. I'm not privy to any inside details on the film.

The Saints of San Antonio header from website

Happy Pioneer Day! Across the state of Utah and in LDS congregations around the globe, today we celebrate the pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The 24th of July marks the day that the first company of Mormon Pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake valley, but the significance of memorializing the pioneers goes far beyond that single event. A new and still developing online-video series, "The Saints of San Antonio," offers one such modern-day perspective on what it means to be a pioneer.
