This special edition of BYU Studies was published in 2007 and features Randy Astle's comprehensive history of the film and its relation to the LDS Church. This well-thought-out history categorizes LDS Cinema into five distinct phases over the past 100 years and also features rare imagery from each period in question. The volume also features several other informative reads in the areas of critical thought relative to film. It is the only comprehensive text in print to treat the top of Mormon Cinema from a critical/historical perspecitve.
